Born into a French Canadian family, I grew up learning about the history of Les Raconteurs – the Storytellers. In French culture, Storytellers were entrusted with preserving traditions and significant historic events in folklore. These stories were meant to reflect the spirit of families and communities from their beginning to present.
For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to two things: history and beautiful things. Like Les Raconteurs, the connection between the history and sentimentality of a place or object fuels creativity in all aspects of my life. Following in their footsteps, it comes as no surprise that Wild Sage Events was born out of my very own memories and significant events.
After moving to British Columbia to work as a geologist in Kamloops in 2012, I was fortunate to fly home often to visit my family. On every trip, the smell of sagebrush would linger on my clothes for days, growing more and more familiar; slowly becoming my most cherished link to Kamloops. A few years later, after choosing to follow my passion for styling & event planning, I made a permanent home in the BC Interior. When it came time to choose a name for my new business adventure, the smell of wild sage was the only thing on my mind.
Wild Sage Events has allowed me to be a modern storyteller. Whether its through carefully curated design elements, the use of nostalgic pieces or significant traditions that a family cherishes, I aspire to tell our couples’ unique stories on their wedding day. The styling elements I select often originate from the history that makes each relationship one-of-a-kind and also by the area a couple chose to exchange their vows. I am constantly inspired by the beauty of British Columbia and its landscapes are the canvas to all our events.
This is my storytelling.
