In a nutshell, it’s a wedding planning community and podcast for engaged couples that focuses on providing you with the education and resources you’ll need to plan your dream wedding. But to really understand why this project is so special to me, let’s go back to what first inspired me.
Over the last 3 years, I’ve had the pleasure to work with dozens of amazing couples – helping them every step of the way with their wedding planning. It’s along this journey that I started to journal all of the decisions and challenges that couples face while trying to plan their wedding day. From not knowing where to begin, to which vendors to choose or which questions to ask before booking, I’ve been super proud to assist couple navigate the most common wedding planning questions. And that got me thinking, if it’s not through a wedding planner, how are couples getting the information they need to plan their weddings?
So, I asked the question to lots of newly married couples and the answers I received really surprised me. The majority of couples gathered their information from purchased wedding books or magazines, through married couples they knew, or though discussion groups like the Facebook Wedding Swap/Buy pages. I received feedback from couples who said they found the financial information they gathered wasn’t accurate for a wedding in this part of the country, some received biased opinions on vendors and some found wedding inspiration photos that turned out to be unrealistic for their budget. On the other hand, I also heard from couples who felt like they came out of their engagement knowing so much more about planning a wedding and they wish they had known it all before starting.
All this information got me thinking, isn’t it a shame that there isn’t such a thing as a “School of Wedding Planning”? A single location where a couple can access accurate and valuable information before they start their wedding planning. And this my friends, is how the Wild At Heart Podcast came to be. I became super passionate and motivated to create a community where engaged couples could access education, resources and advice from professionals in the wedding industry, to help guide them through their planning process. Much like we do for our clients, I want to provide assistance and a framework for planning so that couples can feel supported and have the resources they need to create their dream wedding.
Over the coming months, I’ve invited industry professionals in each category of wedding planning to sit down with me and share all of their knowledge with YOU! Together we’ll provide you with our best tips & tricks to help you plan your wedding from start to finish. Each week, a new podcast episode will air on the Wild At Heart website, and will focus on a new segment of planning.
So if you’re ready to start planning your wedding with me, let’s get started! It’s going to be a blast and I can’t wait to spend some time with you each week for a new episode of the Wild At Heart Podcast. Until then friends, happy planning!
